Simone Tramonte was born in Rome, where he currently lives and works. After obtaining a degree in Economics he decided to devote his attention to photography.

He began photographic studies with particular attention to social and anthropological issues. Involved in documentary photography since the 2008, his work is focused to documenting contemporary issues and the profound cultural changes.

He has covered stories in Iran, Cuba, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Burkina Faso, Jordan, Central America, Italy, Morocco, Thailand, Malaysia, Central and Eastern Europe, etc.

His projects have been published in international magazines such as National Geographic, The New Republic, Geo, Internazionale, Politico, Panorama, Die Zeit, Sette - Corriere della Sera, Jyllands-Posten, The Australian, The Guardian, The Telegraph, WIRED, Touring, Publico-P3, The Eye of Photography, Southeast Asia Globe, Indipendent, Sguardi, CameraRaw, TheTripMagazine.

In the last years Tramonte has been prized with several international recognitions such as: the “Paris Photography Prize”, the “International Photographic Awards” in Los Angeles, the “Moscow International Photo Awards”, the “Kolga Tbilisi Photo Award”, the “Tokyo International Foto Awards”, the “ND Awards”, the “International Photography of the Year”, the “FIOF Awards”, the “Siena International Photo Awards”.

He was also a finalist at the “Sony World Photography Awards”, at the “Leica Oskar Barnack Award”, at the “Voies Off Awards” in Arles, at the “Hamdan International Photo Awards”, at the “Athens Photo Festival”, at the “Lugano Photo Days”, at the “Rovinj Photo Festival”, and at the International Festival of Photojournalism”.

Tramonte’s projects was exhibited and screened during the festival “Les Rencontres del la photographie” of Arlès, in Rome at “Fotoleggendo” and at the “Chiostro del Bramante” during the UBS Art Collection, at the “ArtBasel” of Basel, at the Kolga Tbilisi Festival of Georgia, at the “Lenzburg Photo Festival”, etc.
